A computing model for optimal sizes of protected areas considering animal bioindicators

The authors propose a calculation example of the optimal sizes regarding the protected areas, taking into account the biological, ecological and behavioral needs of the animal species which are situated in the top of the trophic pyramid. Carnivores and great herbivores are considered the best bioindicators for the Romanian ecosystems.
